As a Mechanic, you'll repair engine components.
What you'll do:
Sets up and operates a variety of hand tools such as hammers, files, dremels, vibro-peen tools, drills, presses, low temperature ovens, pullers and hand grinders to perform various operations such as blending, chasing threads, deburring, angle checking, coldworking metals, masking, and braze application.
Fits and assembles machined metal parts and sub-assemblies using hand and power tools.
Complete check in process - reviewing documentation
Identifying the status of the engine component and determine if any outstanding modification or airworthiness directive need to be incorporated
De-stack/disassemble engine components and/or accessories
Record and take measurements while dismantling, document with pictures as required
Prepare parts to get cleaned and repaired, clean parts as required
Balance as required
Inspects the parts determining if they are able to be repaired or replaced
Route repairable parts to appropriate area
Place order for parts required
Ensures all parts required are ready and available for assembly of the engine or component
Assemble engine components and/or assemblies
Final release process - checking product for compliance
Uses manuals and technical specifications to determine proper operating conditions
Reads technical specifications to identify product discrepancies and deficiencies
Verifying the conformance of parts to manuals and technical data
Position Requirements
Mechanical and/or aviation experience/aptitude preferred
Ability to read, understand and interpret blueprints.
Working knowledge of precision measuring instruments.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (unassisted) for approximately 25% of the average work day.
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Mechanic I
Routine induction/ dismantle of engines components
Thorough Inspection of basic parts
Understanding of parts and when they need to be fixed or replaced
Kit and assemble engine components
Read and understand manuals and technical data, knowledge to find and follow instructions
