Job Details:
The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing the
cleaning of plant production equipment and facilities to ensure
compliance with food safety standards as required by federal, state, and
local regulations, as well as DFA\'s customer quality and safety
standards. The Supervisor ensures that employees adhere to company
policies and procedures, maintaining sanitation quality and departmental
efficiency at or above required standards. This role also supports
continuous improvement in Food Safety and Quality programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily sanitation of equipment and facilities.
- Train, plan, assign, and supervise the work of employees, including
performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
- Develop, document, and implement cleaning procedures (e.g., SSOPs,
cleaning logs).
- Train and document all sanitation workers in the safe operation and
disassembly of equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, including proper use of
personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ensure food safety and quality specifications are met.
- Maintain and comply with the Master Sanitation Schedule.
- Collaborate with management and chemical suppliers to improve
sanitation processes and reduce costs.
- Supervise, motivate, and train sanitation workers.
- Coordinate with R&D, Quality Assurance, and Maintenance on
sanitation issues related to production, new products, and special
runs.
- Work independently and as part of a team on special projects and
other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of manufacturing experience in the food industry; food
industry sanitation experience preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as MSDS, safety rules,
and procedure manuals.
- Proficiency in writing reports and computing rates, ratios, and
percentages for preparing cleaning chemicals.
- Skilled in using Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor\'s Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- HACCP certification is preferred.
- 2+ years in a similar role, with experience and/or training in the
field.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and time management skills.
- Occasionally required to lead meetings or group discussions.
