Job requires the operation of various tractors and farm equipment to
till soil; work ground; prepare and maintain land; and plant, fertilize,
spray, cultivate, harvest, and transport crops to elevator or storage
area. Equipment that workers may be required to operate includes, but is
not limited to, tractors with various implements, equipment that
utilizes GPS and auto-guidance systems, sprayers, combines, Job requires
tending to livestock in the forms of feeding, examining, tagging,
calving cows and bred heifers, occasionally lifting and carrying newborn
calves, and weaning calves from cows; operating various equipment
including, but not limited to, tractors, mowers, skid steer, and harvest
trucks. Non CDL farm trucks will be loaded with agricultural products
such as crops, fertilizer, seed and chemicals and driven around the farm
and to storage facilities as needed. Receiving crop for drying and
storage at grain storage facility; disposing of spoiled grain;
transporting grain from fields to grain bins; loading and unloading
grain into trucks while keeping grain level; and shoveling grain. Manual
duties include but are not limited to loading seed into planters;
properly mixing chemicals; loading chemicals into sprayers; changing
combine cutting heads; rouging fields and using hand tools to remove
undesirable plant varieties, trash, and other objects from fields;
performing general maintenance, repairs and/or clean-up of storage
sheds, buildings, property borders and all farm equipment; ensuring
operational areas are organized and well maintained; using hand tools
and equipment to repair, clean and maintain farm vehicles, machinery and
specialized machinery and agricultural equipment; and regularly
servicing equipment. There are few typical days and workers may be
required to change duties and/or locations often and engage in various
general functions. Daily duties may vary depending on crop, weather, and
field conditions. The employer reserves the right to increase workers\'
pay or provide bonuses based on tenure, performance, or other factors
that are solely based on the discretion of the employer.
Employer-provided housing
Daily transportation may be available to employees who do not reside in
employer provided housing based on circumstance. Workers in possession
of a valid drivers license will drive themselves to work at the
beginning of the workday and back to employer provided housing at the
end of the workday in an employer provided vehicle. Work vehicles will
be provided at the beginning of the contract or upon arrival of the
workers, whichever occurs first. 1 vehicle will be used with a seating
capacity of 5. Vehicle provided is a ton truck. Workers will transport
themselves to work at the specified time and place each day as directed
by the employer. Using these vehicles, workers living in employer
provided or secured housing will be allowed to travel to the store once
per week to purchase groceries or other personal supplies. After
obtaining permission from the employer, workers residing in employer
provided housing can use the provided vehicles for personal purposes.
