GE Vernova Customer Application Engineer in Clearwater, Florida

Job Description Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated person with a background and understanding of Electrical Power systems to focus on advance sensor technologies that are a blend of Electrical and Electronic components. Candidate should have experience in monitoring system integrations into software platforms such as SCADA, PII. Ability to be hands on troubleshooting products as well as debugging basic software codes. Requires solid understanding of Linux based systems and Java based applications and be

be willing to travel to customer locations and provide product related trainings.

Position will report directly to the Engineering Manager with strong dotted line to Caps Product Manager

This position will be locaed in Clearwater, Florida and not virtual

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Follows and ensures all safety rules and regulations

  • Collaborate and work as part of the NPI team

  • Troubleshoot product and system solutions

  • Interact with the customer, product management, and marketing to resolve questions and issues related to generating proposed solutions

  • Work with manufacturing to resolve manufacturing, quality, and process issues

  • Oversee monitoring device integrations

  • Debug communication networks

  • Integrate monitoring devices into customer applications

  • Provide onsite and remote customer trainings, as needed and supervise field installations

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Systems Engineering/Computer Science Engineering (or high school diploma/GED with 3 years of work experience)

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience, in system integration, control systems, power monitoring and automation, field applications/services, and SCADA systems

  • 50% Travel is required

  • Experience with DNP3 communication protocol

  • Experience with Linux based systems

  • Knowledge of C/C++ Understanding of UI/UX design principles

  • Experience with web services and networking

  • Experience with Capacitors and power factor compensation

  • Understanding of 60Hz Electrical power systems

  • Strong sense of ownership
