Garden of Flavor Group LLC Food and Beverage Maintenance Technician in Cleveland, Ohio

Job Summary

Maintenance technician will work directly with Maintenance Manager to ensure all equipment is functioning properly at all times. Our facility has dry, refrigerated and freezer areas and most of the work is done in a refrigerated environment.

* Essential Duties and Responsibilities*

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance tasks on production machinery and equipment, ensuring proper functioning and longevity.
  • Competent and comfortable working with high voltage electrical equipment. (Ex:240v/480v)
  • Diagnose mechanical issues, troubleshoot malfunctions, and conduct repairs as necessary to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with leadership to schedule maintenance activities without disrupting production schedules.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for all machinery and equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure efficient operation
  • Conduct regular inspections, lubrication, and adjustments on various equipment components to maintain optimal performance.
  • Replace or repair parts and equipment as necessary.
  • Coordinate with external suppliers and contractors for specialized repairs and replacement of parts, when necessary, with approval from management.
  • Keep updated records of maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards.
  • Maintain an organized inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment necessary for maintenance and janitorial tasks.
  • Monitor stock levels are coordinate reordering of supplies as needed to avoid shortages during critical maintenance periods.
  • Perform general cleaning of buildings or properties.
  • Perform minor repairs.
  • Conduct different maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, outlets, etc.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Follow strict sanitation guidelines including the proper use of required personal protective equipment.

* Minimum Qualifications*

  • Experience working on detailed machinery ideally on food processing, packing and production equipment.

* Competencies, Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities*

  • Bilingual -- English/Spanish is a plus
  • Strong mechanical aptitude including knowledge of machines and tools.
  • Able to analyze mechanical problems, recommend solutions, and initiate repairs.
  • Capable of operating power tools, wrenches, hammers, multimeter, screw driver, etc.
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Welding experience is a plus.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • While performing the duties of the position, the employee will be required to:
  • Stand, walk, sit, twist the body, reach with hands/arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, and/or crouch/crawl
  • Use hands repeatedly to handle, move, and/or lift objects up to 50lbs
  • Occasionally climb ladders or stairs to reach elevated surfaces or equipment for cleaning or maintenance purposes
  • Communicate, talk, and hear in an environment with reasonable manufacturing noise levels
  • This work involves standing and walking for extended periods of time, especially during cleaning tasks and equipment maintenance.

  • While performing the duties of the position, the work environment:
  • Work in fluctuating temperature environments of refrigeration and non-refrigeration.
  • May be noisy due to juicing machines and other equipment
