Job Title: Electronic Technician

Job Description

As an Electronic Technician, your primary responsibilities will include troubleshooting manufacturing equipment that uses electronic and computer systems to control hydraulic, pneumatic, and electromechanical subsystems and components. You will be required to diagnose problems based on observations of malfunction, deviations from manufacturer's specifications, and problem reports from shop staff. You may need to dismantle machinery as needed to access, inspect, repair or replace defective components. After performing repairs, you will test machines to ensure they operate within manufacturer's specifications and Government requirements. Other duties include replacing instrument and control components, building & wiring ac/dc circuits, repairing electronic equipment, troubleshooting and installing PLC systems, pressure transducers and motor controllers, and taking test readings using common instruments such as digital multi-meters, signal generators, semiconductor testers, curve tracers, and oscilloscopes. You may work with a technical team or independently.

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 9 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Cleveland, Ohio.

Work Environment

The work environment will be in the Test Facilities Operation, Maintenance and Engineering (TFOME) team at the NASA Glenn Research Center, specifically in the Propulsion Systems Lab (PSL). Core shift hours are from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, however, during testing periods, you may have to rotate to 2nd/3rd shift hours. You will receive a 7.5% shift diff on 2nd shift, 10% on 3rd shift. For example, if a test is due to last 6 weeks, you could work 2 weeks on 1st, 2 weeks on 2nd, 2 weeks on 3rd. This is a 9 Month Contract to Hire position.
