MetroHealth Perioperative Quality & Education Specialist- Recovery Room in CLEVELAND, Ohio

Location: METROHEALTH MEDICAL CENTER

Biweekly Hours: 80.00

Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Summary:

Identifies and analyzes Perioperative staff education and quality needs. Plans, develops, and implements educational programs, activities, workshops, and seminars. Works closely with department leadership to ensure educational offerings and quality initiatives meet accrediting agencies requirements. Utilizes cost containment principles and provides input into the departmental budget regarding education resources. Participates and leads quality and process improvement initiatives within each unit. Collaborates with members of the perioperative interdisciplinary team on all education, regulatory, and quality initiatives. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Qualifications:

Required: Bachelor’s degree in nursing. Current State of Ohio Registered Nurse license. Three years of perioperative or procedural experience as a registered nurse. Professional certification in area of specialty obtained within 1 year of hire. Healthcare Provider BLS through the American Heart Association (AHA) and specialty AHA certifications required in area of coverage. Experience in adult education and curriculum development.

Preferred: Master’s Degree in Nursing Education or health related field.

Physical Requirements: May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day. May need to sit or stand for extended periods. See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required. May need to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion. Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications. Ability to see computer monitor and departmental documents.
