Cuyahoga Community College Program Director, Respiratory Care in Cleveland, Ohio

* SUMMARY* Provides program manager support on temporary basis for the Respiratory Care program. May also provide didactic instruction and supervision of clinical course content. *ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS       *                           

  • Provides ongoing review and analysis of all program activities, ensuring compliance with CoARC standards in collaboration with the Associate Dean and the Director of Clinical Education/Preceptor
  • Oversees the communication among all Respiratory Care Program adjuncts and tutors
  • Coordinates meetings with hospital administration
  • Assists with clinical visits to University Hospitals-based sites
  • Primary contact for Respiratory Care students
  • Supports open labs for student success
  • Assists Associate Dean, Health Careers with upcoming self-study
  • Assists the Associate Dean, Health Careers with budget planning
  • Performs other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING

  • Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Care or healthcare related field
    • Significant related experience may substitute for education 
  • Current certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and a valid Ohio Respiratory Care license
  • Minimum of four years of demonstrated experience as a RRT with at least two years' experience in clinical respiratory care
  • Minimum of two years' experience teaching in an accredited Respiratory Care program either as an appointed faculty member or as a clinical preceptor
  • Demonstrated experience making sound decisions that affect a work unit or team
  • Demonstrated experience requiring diverse problem solving methods in a variety of situations
  • Must successfully complete a Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation (BCI) Background Check to include fingerprinting, social security number trace, county record search, state search, and a check of Federal Bureau of Investigation records
