Coeur d'Alene Resort Host - The Floating Green Restaurant in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho

Job Summary

The Floating Green Host is the first employee to interact with arriving guests as they enter the restaurant (https://www.hcareers.com/restaurant-jobs). It is the job (https://www.hcareers.ca/search-jobs/?bc=*&Search=&LocationText=&Radius=50%2C10) of the host to greet arriving guests, welcome them into the restaurant and seat them. The guests receive their first impression of the service of the restaurant by their exchange with the hostess.

The host is a personal representation of the service and overall hospitality of the staff of the restaurant. While guests are waiting to be seated or waiting for take-out orders to be ready, it is the job of the host to ensure that the guests are made comfortable and kept informed of the status of their orders or wait times.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for maintaining the appearance of the dining room, boardroom, and foyer.

  • Greet Guests following standards and seat them in timely manner.

  • Follow procedure when answering telephones and take the information needed for reservations.

  • Keep host stand organized and stocked.

  • Have a working knowledge of all our menus.

  • Basic understanding of where golfers check in and warm up.

  • Recognize frequent guests, premier members, and upper management.

  • Be involved with the staff in the dining room.

  • Be knowledgeable of other Hagadone Hospitality operations to cross-sell Guests.

  • Clear and set tables.

  • Must have a friendly and courteous demeanor. No visible tattoos and facial piercings.

  • Good communication skills, including verbal, written, and phone skills.

  • Be able to negotiate.

  • Carry up to 15 pounds.

  • Be detail oriented, have an excellent memory, and be very efficient.

  • Work at a fast pace and able to keep busy during slow periods.

  • Capacity to stand for long periods at a time.

  • Basic math and money handling skills.

Lifting/Pushing/Pulling/Carrying

  • 10% of shift lifting/carrying supplies/equipment

  • Be able to carry up to 40 pounds

Bending

  • 10% of shift bending and kneeling to access supplies/equipment.

Mobility

  • 90% of shift continuous movement throughout restaurant.

  • Be able to walk up to five miles a day.

  • Be able to walk up and down several steps during shift.

Continuous Standing

  • 95% of shift continuous standing greeting guests.

Work Environment

  • Inside: 60%

  • Outside: 40%

Chemicals/Agents

  • 20% of shift continuous exposure to chemicals:

  • Sanitizer

  • Glass Cleaner

  • Bleach

  • Degreaser

Other Considerations

  • Interaction with dish pit, waste, and cleaning tables.

Job Requirements

  • Education: High school education or equivalent experience.

  • Experience: Three months to a year in the food and beverage industry.

  • Skills and Abilities: Able to read and speak English.

Hours required: Five to Ten hour shift; scheduled days and times may vary based on need

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS OPPORTUNITIES

$12/hour

Medical, Dental, Vision & Life Insurance, Flexible Reimbursement Plan:

  • Full Time Employees are offered these benefits first of the month following 60 days of employment

  • Must maintain a minimum of 30 hours per week or more.

  • Variable hour team members could be eligible12 months after their date of hire, with supervisor approval, so long as they have averaged 30+ hours per week throughout their first year.

401K Plan:

  • Team members are eligible to participate at the age of 21 or greater and at the 1st of the month following 60 days of employment.

  • 2% match with a 4% contribution from the team member.

PTO:

  • 6 months gets 7 PTO days - 728 hours (average 28 hours per week)

  • 1 year gets 10 PTO days - 1,456 hours (average 28 hours per week)

  • 2-4 years gets 15 PTO days - 1,456 hours (average 28 hours per week)

  • 5+ years gets 20 PTO days - 1,200 hours (average 23 hours per week)

Holiday Pay:

  • Hourly team members who work on Thanksgiving and Christmas will be paid their wage at time and a half.
