Job Summary

Responsible for the materials management function relating to the planning, procurement, storage, control and distribution of materials and products to meet Company objective and customer requirements.  This involves the responsibility of directing and administering the Purchasing of raw material components, Planning and Shipping / Warehouse departments.

 

Essential Functions

  • Schedule manufacturing to meet customer requirements by using the Sales Plan/Logility Forecast while maintaining raw materials and finished goods at the lowest possible inventory levels.
  • By using the Sales Plan/Logility Forecast, create various reports to aid in the procurement of raw materials (resins, concentrates, packaging, WIP boards), man-hours and machine/mold capacities to manufacture product needed for customer requirements.
  • Maintain sufficient raw material inventories in-house to manufacture product suggested in the Sales Plan/Logility Forecasts.  Coordinate directly with suppliers on resin delivers of railcars or flow trucks and concentrates to ensure on time deliveries.   Establish min/max inventory levels of all raw materials.
  • Responsible to ensure finished goods inventory levels of product is manufactured to cover the Locked and Max levels forecasted in Logility.  Work with S&OP Manager and or DRP/Inventory Specialist to ensure inventory of product is moved within the company (plant transfers).
  • Monitor customer required min/max levels using the monthly Logility forecast and manufacturing capacities. 
  • Work daily with the Warehouse Supervisor to coordinate ship dates to customers and/or outside storage.
  • Report weekly warehouse space capacity. Work with Warehouse Supervisor to ensure space is being utilized and reported correctly.
  • Work closely with manufacturing and technical personnel regarding tooling repairs, machine maintenance (scheduled and non-scheduled) to ensure that customer requirements are not jeopardized.
  • Set manufacturing priorities to limit shortages and maximize manufacturing targets
  • Monitor / issue raw material part numbering system and their components needed to set up BOM's and Packaging specification to produce items.
  • Track and maintain traceability for all material, from raw material to finished goods.
  • Responsible for the direct supervision and development of the Planning Analyst and Warehouse Supervisor.  Direct them in their decision making that will benefit the company and meet customer requirements. 
  • Work closely with all department managers to ensure customer requirements as well as company objectives are met.
  • Adheres to and complies to all General Manufacturing practices (GMP).
  • Work with various engineering and development groups to establish, refine, improve, and/or launch new packaging requirements.
  • Work with Supply Chain on MRO projects
  • Other duties as assigned

     

Job Qualifications

Undergraduate degree in Inventory Management or closely related program.
