Volt is immediately hiring Communication and Network System Engineer in
Colorado Springs, CO.
As Communication and Network System Engineer you will:
Provides technical solutions to the agency on the Command, Control, Battle
Management and Communications (C2BMC) Contract. C2BMC is the integrating
element for the Ballistic Missile Defense System and links various sensors and
weapon systems.
The system provides capabilities to integrate and synchronize missile defense
systems and operations, providing a layered defense against multiple ranges
of threats and in all phases of flight.
Part of the Cyber and Platform (CAP) Information Technology team and
assist the senior system administrators and government network subject matter
experts with the management and sustainment of network components supporting
associated support networks.
This is a 6 Month full time Contract with possibility of Direct Hire
opportunity.
The ideal candidate will have:
Clearance Required: Active Secret
Required Experience:
Must be an effective communicator with excellent writing and presentation
skills using Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio drawing tools.
Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment with other highly
motivated network engineers.
Familiarity with network communication products including router,
switches, firewalls, Domain Name Servers (DNS) and data encryption products.
Knowledge of network architecture, engineering, design,
implementation, and testing. Understanding of network communication
protocols and network routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP) and IP
network troubleshooting.
Basic knowledge of network testing methodologies using routers, switches,
and firewalls. Knowledge of TCP/IP behavior, network communications and
routing protocols, network traffic analysis and troubleshooting experience.
Candidate must meet minimum requirements of DOD 8570 IAT II certification with
any of the following c ertifications (Security +, CCNA Security,
CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP).
Preferred Experience:
If individual has any prior knowledge of the C2BMC networks or organization.
If candidate has knowledge, skill sets or experience using protocol
analyzers/sniffers (e.g., Wireshark).
Experience in Network Management Systems (HP Network Node Manager or
Solarwinds or NAS/SAN technologies (NetApp, or Gigastore).
Certifications in the industry vendor Juniper or Cisco a plus.
Pay Rate: $60.00 - $70.00 per hour
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several
factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work
location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
