OBJECTIVE: Goodwill of Colorado has an exciting opportunity for the right individual(s) to support our Continuous Improvement team with our organization-wide Continuous Improvement (CI) and operational excellenceinitiative. Our Retail, Donation, Warehousing, Salvage operations are a vital part of our ability to provide mission services throughout the State of Colorado. In this role, you will be an integral part of the team and will facilitating events, conducting studies, and auditing actual process performance. Hands-on activity is required for this role, which includes such things as hanging signs, installing and moving items and similar activities in variety of work environments. This role works effectively with varied groups of people including individuals with disabilities and disadvantages, management and employees at all levels. QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma required; Bachelors' degree in related discipline preferred. 1-3 years recent continuous improvement/process engineering experience, or recent college graduate with Bachelors' degree in Operations Management or Industrial Engineering Six Sigma Green Belt or other Lean Six Sigma certification Preferred. Intermediate skill with Microsoft Excel; working knowledge of other computer applications such as Outlook, Word, Teams, PowerPoint. Experience with Visio a plus. Ability to follow established procedures without immediate supervision for various operations Ability to plan & work around schedules and deadlines Ability to perform record keeping, data collection activities and to analyze recorded information Ability to teach and conduct Lean Training Strong analytical problem-solving skills required. Strong interpersonal and communication skills a must. Excellent communication and meeting facilitation skills. Must have reliable transportation. This position requires frequent travel to all of Goodwill of Colorado's business units. Mileage will be reimbursed. Per contract requirements with vehicle insurance provider: Qualified candidates must be 21 years of age and have no major traffic violations for previous 3 years (for driving/insurance purposes). Must have reliable transportation; must also be able to operate company vehicle. KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS: Works primarily in a Retail and warehouse setting and will assist in answering Continuous Improvement (CI) questions and requests from members of management and staff. Make use of available CI tools, to include 5s, visual control, and Daily Huddles, value stream maps, production area sketches, checklists, audits, training and results of Kaizen/Six Sigma events and studies. Participate in and lead Kaizen events and studies. Emphasize standard work to gain efficiency in retail and other processing areas. Use Microsoft Visio to capture results of value stream mapping and key organizational processes. Conduct CI audits and check to ensure realization of efficiencies. Research/verify production and financial performance reports to identify process mprovement impact. Analyze data and apply innovative approaches to resolve complex problems.
