Responsibilities
Chief of Facilities Engineering and Managment. Leads and Manages the
design, planning, construction and maintenance of equipment,
machinery, buildings, and other facilities in support of government
operations. Leads a staff to cinclude a project engineering and drafting
team, multidisciplinary engineering team, and facilities operations and
maintenance team. The teams coordinate with government staff and building
contractors to ensure continuity of operations, building safety, and
adherence to applicable building codes.
Leads planning for major and minor remodeling, continuous upgrades to
facilities infrastructure, space utilization and other facilities needs for
the government. Leads plans, directs, and manages all phases of
equipment, electrical, mechanical, and building systems maintenance,
facilities modification and building projects from the design concept through

Ensures project requirements are defined, contract and contract changes are
negotiated, operating budgets established, and financial
terms/conditions of contract are identified. Maintains compliance with and
abreast in changes regarding OSHA regulations. Manages the receiving and
shipping warehouse function. May also have responsibility for some
administrative services and mailroom. Manages and implements energy
management/utility consumption improvement programs. Performs environmental
hazard management/planning and remediation. Establishes and maintains
equipment and system standards.
Leads a team that issues and negotiates competitive RFPs to building and
maintenance contractors for equipment and systems maintenance. Leads large
and small construction projects within the building envelope. Explores and
solicits alternative options for products and services in support of facility
operations and maintenance. Oversees construction and renovation projects to
improve efficiency and to ensure that facilities meet environmental,
health, and security standards, and comply with government regulations.
Ideal candidate:
Proven executive level leadership skills to enable multidisciplinary
engineering teams to meet the customer's performance objectives.
Demonstrates strong personal leadership qualities and excellent interpersonal
skills for coordinating and following daily interactions with multitudinous
stakeholders in business, military, and civilian government -- at all
levels within a large agency footprint. Works with corporate leaders and the
government to establish agreed upon program objectives, requirements,
concepts of operations, and deliverables. Demonstrates record to of
satisfying the same -- within cost, schedule, and contract constraints and
within a dynamic operational environment.
Qualifications
21+ years of experience in leadership and management of facilities
engineering, operations, and maintenance.
Project Management Profession (PMP) certfied
Master of Science degree in engineering or MBA in lieu of PMP certification
Profession Engineering license a plus
Graduate of military or government professional engineering training programs
a plus

Target Salary Range
$176,000 - $282,000. This represents the typical salary range for this
position based on experience and other factors.
