Sustainment Systems Engineer, Senior
The Opportunity:
On our team, you will support sustainment activities for a diverse portfolio
of strategic and tactical MILSATCOM space systems and infrastructure. You will
apply systems engineering and integration expertise in support of legacy space
constellations including Milstar, Advanced Enhanced High Frequency
(AEHF) and Enhanced Polar System (EPS) and associated ground
infrastructure, warfighter terminals and software applications such as
Family of Beyond Line-of-Sight Terminal (FAB-T), Global Aircrew
Strategic Network Terminal (Global-ASNT), Milstar Messaging System
(MMS), Global Broadcast Service (GBS) and Ground Multiband Terminal
(GMT) along with various other systems, subsystems and devices in a

How You'll Contribute:
Provides the government customer with MILSATCOM systems engineering advisory
assistance, including daily engineering consultation in support of
sustainment activities
Engages the Joint space warfighting community, supporting sustainment tasks
through established space systems engineering processes and procedures for
requirements development, technical solution generation for hardware and
software, and fielding to space warfighters
Evaluates and produces products of a technical nature using technical rigor,
adequacy, completeness, and appropriate application of the specialty
engineering disciplines as standard process
Assists with technology readiness assessments, and identify risks and issues
with proposed technologies while collaborating with other teams such as Test
and Evaluation or Integrated Logistics Support
Supports waiver, deviation and deficiency reviews, system allocations,
and compliance assessments
Conducts system and enterprise level engineering analysis to identify
sustainment problem areas, provide impact analysis, forecast potential
failures, and present options with potential to mitigate these problems
Performs engineering analysis on organizational technical processes, and
suggests process improvements that increase efficiency and effectiveness of
operations as required
Supports formulation of information of sustainment objectives and performs
engineering analysis and system-level assessments for decision support at
various meetings and sustainment forums
Performs studies and analyses of military air, surface, maritime, space
and cyberspace missions to assess integration, system-of-systems factors,
system vulnerability and survivability, system commonality, new
technologies, enhancements, commercialization, cost effectiveness, and mission

You Have:
5+ years of experience working with military or DoD civilian clients and
managing professional relationships
5+ years of experience in architecture and requirements definition and
analysis, acquisitions, engineering or design, fielding or
integration, and verification or analysis
4+ years of experience working in a highly competitive multi-contractor
environment
4+ years of experience with systems engineering and integration
4+ years of experience engaging government customers to advance projects and
initiatives at varying degrees of complexity through engineering management
Experience with require ents development and analysis, and the development
of systems engineering documents including requirements and specifications,
interface control documents, and validation and verification plans
Ability to demonstrate engineering principles and concepts
Ability to sort through complex issues and develop clear solutions, provide
in-depth technical assessments, and identify issues and risks
Secret clearance
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Science
Nice If You Have:
6+ years of experience in a DoD program office including DoD acquisition
processes and compliance with government instructions, and with working
military or civilian space systems
6+ years of experience working with strategic and tactical MILSATCOM space
systems such as spacecraft, uplinks and downlinks, command and control,
networks, or user communities
Knowledge of Agile software development processes and applications such as
Jira or Confluence
Knowledge of Digital Engineering (DE) or Model Based Systems Engineering
(MBSE) applications such as SparxEA or Cameo
Possession of excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) certification such
as ASEP or CSEP
