DEA is hiring a full time Transportation/Traffic Engineer-in-Training to
work on transportation engineering and planning related projects in our Smart
Mobility practice. The responsibilities include data collection and
analysis, technical evaluation, assist on traffic design and operations,
and documentation of findings for projects involving all modes of
transportation. This position will support work in the Colorado Smart Mobility
group in our Denver, CO office. Working from another DEA office may be

Responsibilities will be diverse and include but are not limited to the
following:
Working with diverse project teams on all aspects of projects, including
project set-up, data collection, data analysis, documentation, quality
review and quality assurance, project coordination/organization, etc.
Preparing Traffic engineering designs (signing and striping, signals,
temporary traffic control) for roadway, transit and ADA projects
Developing Illumination and ITS design for transportation projects
Preparing transportation data requests, data analysis spreadsheets,
traffic analysis models, analysis methodology memorandums, summary
reports, informational graphics, cost estimates, and designs for projects.
Learning to develop and complete multimodal traffic impact analysis, traffic
operations analysis, travel demand analysis, traffic signal operations,
corridor studies, ITS plans and Transportation System Plans
Developing data summaries, graphics, documents and presentations
Supporting project managers and task leads on multi-discipline projects.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
Engineer In Training (EIT) certification, or plans to pursue certification
Coursework in traffic engineering, transportation evaluation or
transportation design
0-5 years of professional engineering experience
Experience with design software such as MicroStation and/or AutoCAD
Desire to work in the Transportation Engineering and Planning field
Proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Strong communication skills (written and oral)
Ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical
audiences
Preferred Additional Qualifications
Experience with other design software such as Civil 3D, Guide Sign,
AGi32, Infraworks, ConceptStation, etc
Experience with transportation analysis programs such as HCM, Synchro,
Sidra, VISSIM, or VISUM
Experience in GIS, database management, or data analysis
Experience with safety evaluations tools such IHSDM and ISATe safety
evaluation

Anticipated salary range for this position is $70,000 - $100,000 and
is based on applicable experience
