Position Summary
The Senior Scrum Master leads and refines our Agile framework across multiple teams. This role is responsible for optimizing Agile processes, mentoring teams, and ensuring the effective use of Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket) to drive productivity and transparency. The incumbent possess a strong background in Agile methodologies, experience with enterprise-level Agile transformations, and will create insightful dashboards to support executive decision-making.
Responsibilities
Agile Framework Optimization & Execution
Assess, revise, and enhance the existing Agile framework to improve efficiency and scalability across multiple teams.
Implement Agile best practices, ensuring alignment with industry standards and organizational goals.
Facilitate Scrum ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, backlog grooming, and sprint reviews).
Act as a servant leader to Agile teams, ensuring a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
Identify and resolve team-level impediments while escalating organization-wide barriers appropriately.
Mentorship & Agile Coaching
Provide hands-on coaching and mentoring to Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and development teams.
Conduct Agile training sessions and workshops to strengthen Agile adoption across the organization.
Foster a culture of self-organization, ownership, and accountability within teams.
Work closely with leadership to align Agile execution with strategic business objectives.
Atlassian Tool Administration & Optimization
Configure, customize, and optimize JIRA, Bitbucket, and Confluence to support Agile workflows.
Develop and maintain custom JIRA workflows, fields, dashboards, and automation rules to enhance team productivity.
Ensure JIRA boards, sprint metrics, and velocity reports accurately reflect work progress.
Executive Reporting & Dashboards
Build and maintain dynamic and insightful dashboards in JIRA and Confluence to provide real-time visibility into Agile team performance.
Translate Agile metrics into meaningful executive reports that drive informed decision-making.
Develop tracking mechanisms to measure Agile maturity and team efficiency over time.
Collaborate with leadership to define key performance indicators (KPIs) for Agile success.
Performance Metrics & Continuous Improvement
Define and track Agile performance metrics, including sprint velocity, cycle time, lead time, and team capacity utilization.
Monitor and analyze team performance data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
Use quantitative and qualitative data to drive discussions around Agile maturity and team effectiveness.
Implement feedback loops to continuously refine Agile processes and practices.
Develop actionable insights to improve predictability, quality, and delivery timelines.
Team Leadership & Development
Act as a servant leader for the development team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies (Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives) to maximize team effectiveness.
Provide guidance and support to team members on Agile principles and practices, promoting self-organization and accountability.
Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to ensure clear communication of project goals and priorities.
Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements, measuring success and adjusting strategies as needed.
Address any team conflicts or roadblocks proactively, facilitating resolutions that maintain team morale and productivity.
Track and report on team performance metrics, using data to drive discussions around progress and areas for improvement.
Miscellaneous
Perform other miscellaneous duties, as needed.

Qualifications
Expertise in Atlassian tools (JIRA, Bitbucket, Confluence) with the ability to configure and customize dashboards, reports, and workflows.
Strong facilitation, coaching, and mentoring skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to interpret Agile metrics and provide actionable insights.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD practices, preferred.
Education and Work Experience
Bachelor’s degree preferred, will consider 10 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
7+ years of experience as a Scrum Master in an Agile environment, with at least 3 years in a senior or enterprise-level role.
Proven experience in Agile transformations and process improvements at an organizational level.
Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), Large Scale Scrum (LeSS), or other enterprise Agile methodologies.
Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), or equivalent Agile certifications, preferred.
Experience working with cross-functional teams in an enterprise or fast-paced environment, preferred.
Experience with Agile frameworks beyond Scrum (Kanban, Lean, XP, etc.), preferred.
Physical and Mental Demands
Ability to travel up to 10% of time, may also include overnight and international travel.
Work normal business hours and extended hours when necessary.
Remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting, for prolonged periods.
Regular use of office equipment such as a computer/laptop and monitor computer screens.
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other computer components.
