Job Description
Insight Global is looking for an Electrical Systems Engineer to support one of our largest automotive clients in Columbus, Indiana. This resource will be responsible for the design and development of new electric forklift systems and components. Candidates will be responsible for interpreting product requirements to develop functional specifications and system requirements and conduct feasibility studies on new features and technology. They will participate in wire harness design reviews to ensure hardware compatibility with system design and layout. They will select motor drivers, controllers, sensors, and/or other electrical components that meet system requirements. They will create and update documentation including design detail, DFMEA, DVP R, test plans, test/calibration procedures, product manuals and other technical documents. They will be responsible for owning from end to end their entire component and product.

Skills and Requirements
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with 2+ years of full-time systems engineering experience, preferably in the automotive, construction, agricultural, or material handling industry
Full life cycle systems engineering experience: gathering requirements, collaborating with design and testing teams, collaborating with suppliers, creating prototypes and specifications
Understanding of functionality of basic electronic components like resistors, inductors etc.
Knowledge and experience in system design, system diagrams, and system integration Software programming experience using C preferred
Knowledge of CAN communication null
