What Ethics & Compliance contributes to Cardinal Health

The Compliance Department is responsible for implementing all elements of an effective compliance program. Compliance develops and implements policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and Cardinal Health’s high ethical standards. The team proactively completes risk assessments to identify legal and compliance risk and develops and conducts training and monitoring programs to mitigate risk. Compliance works closely with legal and regulatory subject matter experts to provide guidance to employees on compliance with Cardinal Health’s policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with internal and external stakeholders to review and understand billing-related audits and findings, includes but not limited to internal monitoring, and audits received from third parties (e.g., CERT, TPE, RAC, and UPIC).

  • Collaborate with the business to understand internal controls of the data and documents provided for an audit.

  • Develop and provide face-to-face formal and informal training on various laws and regulations as well as compliance policies and procedures. Topics may include Anti-kickback, Billing and Reimbursement, False Claims, Stark and Interactions with Customers.

  • Recommend and implement mitigation plans resulting from audit reviews (understand results, identify trends, and implement process improvements which may include new policies and procedures).

  • Develop standard audit report summaries to be used for management summaries in compliance committee meetings and other ad-hoc reporting to understand claim risk.

  • Assist with business-specific policy and procedures, organizing, tracking, and managing for business-impacted updates.

  • Provide support in reviewing Health Care Professionals and Customer engagements such as commercial sponsorships, and other consulting activities.

  • Provide support for projects and other related Ethics & Compliance initiatives.

Qualifications

  • BS in Organizational Development, Business Management or related field preferred

  • Minimum of 4 to 6 years of billing reimbursement (commercial and federal healthcare programs) or related experience preferred

  • Advanced Excel skills are required.

  • Experience using business software, such as RGH Backoffice, OnBase, OIT, and ICON is preferred.

  • Knowledge and understanding of healthcare industry regulations and guidelines preferred (Federal Anti-Kickback, False Claims, Stark Law).

  • Knowledge of DMEPOS standards and accreditation.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to support multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to communicate data-based information effectively to non-technical audiences.

  • Ability to analyze large data sets and identify anomalies.

  • Ability to identify and help develop key analyses that will contribute to the development of overall business risk and strategies.

  • Completes work independently; ability to understand and implement action plans based on general guidance.

  • Ability to work collaboratively and strategically with business partners.

Anticipated salary range: $79,700 - $113,800
