We’re seeking a General Manager for our Columbus market who is an innovative and effective leader with a business owner’s mentality who will lead, manage and grow one of our top markets within the company. In this role, you will be r esponsible for ensuring a smooth, efficient and profitable operation with a focus on driving sales, customer satisfaction, personnel training and employee development.

  • Serve as the primary point-of-contact within the market. You will be accountable for the health of the market and the satisfaction of our employees and clients.

  • Oversee the profit & loss statement, including, but limited to: hiring key personnel, setting strategy for the market, and being accountable for the sales and operations of the market.

  • Maintain and build a top-tier team. Direct reports within the market include: Relationship Manager, Business Development Manager, Project Managers, and all Warehouse Operations.

  • Ensure that our local processing center is staffed, functional and on-budget.

  • Manage the market around a core set of operational and sales Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). 

  • Interact with data sets to set strategy and positively impact the local market.

  • Develop strategy to maximize customer satisfaction, service standards, colleague satisfaction and financial performance.

  • Grow our clear-out and consignment business channels.

  • Engage and build relationships with our core repeat sellers.

  • Maintain a high level of service in all areas to both our internal and external guests.

  • Resolve problems and communicate to ensure consistency and memorable customer service, and ensure strong, positive communication flow among colleagues.

  • Promote a positive work environment by ensuring the appropriate staffing, the continuous training of colleagues, recognition, mentoring and coaching.

  • Serve as a pillar in the community. Our General Managers are the face of the market at marquee networking events and understand how to leverage personal connections to build a business.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships in the community. 

  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

    CREDENTIALS WE ARE SEEKING

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; MBA is a bonus.

  • 5-7 years experience in a supervisory or management role

  • Profit & Loss management experience.

  • Must show a proven record of success in sales. 

  • Experience with project management and metric development.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Strong relationship-building skills and ability to interact effectively at multiple levels.

  • Proficient leadership experience with growing a team.

  • An obsession with the customer experience.

  • Experience managing a sales team and / or working in an operationally complex business.

  • Ability to recruit and build productive sales & operations teams.

  • Ability to solve problems, build and think creatively in challenging situations.
