Summary

As the Sr. Specialist of Reputation and Risk, you will be responsible for supporting the business’ reputation and elevating issues. You will maintain daily monitoring, elevate issues, recommend approaches, and support the development of comprehensive reputation and risk strategies to effectively protect and enhance the reputation of the business.

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage risk assessments, including analysis of social media and media, regulatory changes and peer activity.

  • Build and sustain strong relationships across the organization to maintain communication related to high-risk concerns: Investor Relations, HR, Risk Management, Asset Protection, Legal, Privacy, Cybersecurity, External and Internal communications, Regulatory, Quality/Product Development, Customer Service and Store Operations (US & Canada and International) and Government Relations.

  • Partner with customer care, social media team and product safety to develop responses to escalated customer and public-facing issues.

  • In collaboration with the media relations team, support potential crisis or reputational risk correspondence and media touchpoints.

  • Provide reports to the business for work supported.

  • Support crisis communications team by maintaining enterprise crisis communications tool and support user engagement.

  • Leverage software to monitor issues and proactively elevate potential risks to reputation.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience (5-8 years) in issues management, crisis communications, media relations, corporate communications, or customer de-escalations, preferably within retail, beauty, home/lifestyle or organizations servicing a large volume and diverse customers.

  • Excellent analytics skills and ability to apply logic to quickly understand complex issues and evaluate data and to make informed decision

  • Proven professionalism, discipline and discretion

  • Strong written communication skills, including drafting issues analyses, experience writing statements and ability to self-edit

  • Strong verbal communication, listening and team building skills

  • Ability to prioritize and act with urgency

  • Ability to identify trends and communicate appropriately

  • Ability to work with sensitive information in a confidential manner

  • Detail oriented

  • Excellent deescalating skills

  • Ability to work efficiently, handling multiple projects and competing priorities while meeting deadlines

  • Strong planning, organization and time-management skills

Education

  • BA or BS degree in communications, public relations, or business management; a combination of work experience and an Associate’s degree in communications, public relations, or business management; or progressive work experience.
