Description We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Systems Engineer in the IT services industry, based in Columbus, Ohio. This role involves working on Linux OS migration, Apache Tomcat configuration, Postgres installation and troubleshooting, and Java 11 upgrades among other responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have experience with Cisco Technologies, Citrix Technologies, Database, Dell Technologies, and Configuration Management.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct Linux OS upgrades and migrations to ensure system efficiency
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot Apache Tomcat applications
• Undertake Postgres installation, configuration, and troubleshooting tasks
• Perform Postgres replication using repmgr for failover and switchover operations
• Conduct Disaster Recovery (DR) Testing to ensure system resilience
• Upgrade systems from Java 8 to Java 11
• Use Rsync for file synchronization and file transfer operations
• Install and manage Docker with Tile Server
• Utilize Cisco Technologies, Citrix Technologies, Database, Dell Technologies, and Configuration Management skills for system optimization. Requirements • Proven experience in the IT services industry, specifically as a Systems Engineer.
• Proficiency in Cisco Technologies, Citrix Technologies, Database, Dell Technologies, and EO/IR systems.
• Familiarity with AB Testing, Active Directory, Backup Technologies, Computer Hardware, and Configuration Management.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong understanding of IT infrastructure and system architecture.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Certifications related to system engineering will be considered an asset.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
