Job Summary:

The facility Environmental, Safety, and Quality control manager will be responsible for managing the safety, quality and environmental programs for a DOD contract. The manager will be responsible for conducting safety, environmental and quality inspections, training employees, and managing the waste generating activities of the site.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for incident reporting, incident prevention through classroom training and worksite practical evaluations, new-hire orientation, annual certifications in multiple programs, to include HAZCOM, hazardous material, hazardous waste collection and issue points.

  • Work with managers, supervisors, and leads developing pre-work assessments, identifying high risk actions and alternative actions plans.

  • Possess fundamental knowledge, understanding and be able to incorporate all applicable federal, state, local legislation, and DOD rules and regulations into a working site Safety, Environmental and Quality Plan

  • Develop policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, local legislation, and DOD rules and regulations.

  • Comply with system in place for reporting, investigating, analyzing, and documenting all incidents, regulatory compliance incidents, and significant near misses.

  • Interfaces with regulatory agencies, corporate safety, environment and quality, and Project Manager

  • Designs training for all project employees to include compliance, preparation, and record-keeping to ensure personnel training and corrective action are completed.

  • Conducts on-site reviews and audits of programs and procedures.

  • Reviews registration and documents for regulatory and safety compliance

  • Develops and implements an internal audit program and evaluates audit findings and results. Coordinates Project Manager for completion of Corrective and Preventive Action Reports (CARs and PARs) IAW applicable procedures. Monitors and assists with resolving corrective and preventive actions as necessary.

  • Performs independent analysis, determines scope and course of action required, and develops plans to resolve problems. Conducts analysis and review of problems to determine root cause. Also identifies areas for improvement and initiates Opportunities for Improvement (OFIs) IAW applicable procedures.

  • Acts as liaison with the Government Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) and Quality Assurance Evaluators (QAEs) to resolve problems identified through Government evaluations. Evaluates, investigates, assists with corrective actions, and tracks Government evaluations and findings. Monitors and ensures timely resolution of problems.

  • Manages the project’s training program. Develops and recommends training programs to enhance operations and is responsible for keeping the Training Matrix current. Maintains the competency and compliance training matrix.

  • Other Duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification:

  • Minimum five (5) years Construction or Facilities Maintenance work experience

  • Current 30 Hour OSHA Training Certification

  • Valid Driver's License

  • Knowledge of the OSHA 1910 General Industry Standards

  • Knowledge of the OSHA 1926 Construction Standards

  • NFPA 70e / Electrical Safety compliance knowledge

  • Mishap / accident investigation experience

  • Ability to conduct classroom training, use existing and expand upon classroom training materials

  • Use and understand effective communication practices in an industrial training environment

  • Knowledge or Quality Managment Technics and process

  • Knowlege of EPA and DOD regulations regarding hazardous waste management and handling

  • HAZWOPER Training

Posted Salary Range

120,000 - 130,000
