Kuehne+Nagel Operations Manager in Contern, Luxembourg

We are looking for a new Operations Manager to join our team in Contract Logistics in Contern, Luxembourg!

Your Role

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations, managing customer relationships and leading staff development to drive efficiency and continuous improvement.

Your Responsibilities

  • Operations & Financial Management: Oversee financial results related to space, productivity, and consumables, contribute to forecasting/budgeting, and implement corrective actions for deviations.

  • Customer Engagement & Service: Act as the primary contact for customers on operational matters, drive customer relationships, manage escalations, and ensure high service standards.

  • Team Leadership & Development: Coach, train, and evaluate Shiftleaders, ensure staff development through skills training, and manage performance reviews and disciplinary actions if necessary.

  • Shopfloor & Performance Management: Oversee daily workload, staff planning, and shift operations; conduct meetings, monitor KPIs, and drive continuous process improvements.

  • Compliance & Quality Control: Ensure adherence to security, safety, and customer quality standards; translate contractual agreements into daily operations and drive continuous improvement projects.

  • Customer Service Operations: Organize and monitor workload, meet deadlines, manage customer requests, conduct performance reviews, and drive process improvements based on customer feedback.

  • Financial Oversight & Cost Control: Monitor invoicing accuracy, oversee financial reporting, ensure cost control, and support budget planning while maintaining service levels.

  • Staff & Organizational Management: Supervise warehouse employees, manage shift schedules, oversee bonus calculations, conduct team meetings, and coordinate with HR on workforce matters.

Your Skills and Experiences

  • Several years of experience in logistics, warehouse operations and staff management

  • Highly interested in growing the performance, the capabilities, the ownership and the independency of the team and its individuals

  • Act organised, clearly at all times considering priorities for yourself as well as for your team

  • Good knowledge of logistics processes and techniques used in warehouses

  • Good knowledge of Key Performance Indicators

  • Very good communication skills

  • Ability to take decisions under time pressure and in stressful situations

  • Strong affinity with required customer quality standards
