The Department of Performance Excellence is currently seeking a full time Business Process Analyst. The incumbent in this position provides planning, project management, data analytics and operational support for system wide operational initiatives. Key responsibilities of this role include data analytics, creation of materials/content for executive leadership and overall communications support. This job assists in the development and evaluation of strategic and operational plans and evaluates programs for conformance to the overall goals and objectives of the organization.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs data analysis using various techniques, e.g. statistical analysis, explanatory and predictive modeling, data mining.

  • Supports and contributes to business analytics projects and processes to provide data-driven insights related to business performance used to advise and develop strategies for operational improvements and future business initiatives.

  • Uses statistical methods, modeling, analytical methodologies, and data analysis to develop and deploy tools including dashboards, infographics, reports, and models to inform and support decision-making.

  • Mines, processes, and analyzes internal and external data using KPIs, business results, industry sources, competitor intelligence, and customer information.

  • Develops a good understanding of the business's model, objectives, issues, and challenges by interacting and collaborating with users and stakeholders.

  • Assesses and documents business requirements, makes priority recommendations, and advises on business options, risks, and costs.

  • Produces reports and visualizations that provide easy to understand information required for decision making.

  • Researches, analyzes, and recommends changes to business processes to improve operational efficiencies, quality, service, and profitability.

  • Collects and studies operational and performance data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

  • Develops process documentation and project plans. Creates flowcharts, process maps, and diagrams.

  • Supports cross-functional activities and working sessions during projects' design and implementation phases. Designs and prepares documentation, training materials, and communications supporting new processes.

  • Facilitates or assist with the delivery of training to impacted business units.

  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets
