OVERVIEW:

The Sr. Manager- Experience Initiatives elevates the teammate and athlete experience by driving strategy, innovation, execution, standardization of in-store environment growth initiatives to support adoption and scalability. Further, this role will be responsible for developing, testing and influencing in-store experience strategies.

Focus of this role will be to drive strategy, analysis and execution for our experiences/events/services offerings and related areas of the store (e.g. Field, Rock Wall, Golf Fitting Bays, HitTrax Cage, Equip. Services Desk, etc.). This role will have a meaningful impact on our business by creating value for athletes, developing strategies to defend against competition, and improving profitability/productivity in flagship doors (House of Sport, 50K). This will require strong leadership, clear communication and partnership-building in order to effectively guide these initiatives. Additionally, analytical & financial understanding are important to developing KPIs and measuring profitability of these strategies.

Through this lens, the Sr. Manager – Experience Initiatives will lead key strategic initiatives through oversight, communication and management of projects that drive business transformation resulting in improved financial performance. This position also drives organizational value through input and partnership with cross functional stakeholders. The Sr. Manager- Experience Initiatives may also facilitate business process re-design and Organizational Change Management activities to promote successful project implementation and adoption. This position will have exposure to varying levels of cross-functional teammates and should be comfortable with presentation to groups inclusive of business leaders and be able to discuss analytical details and conclusions in support of driving successful initiatives with measurable results.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

-Facilitate, Coordinate and Communicate across cross-functional stakeholders. Build partnerships and drive accountability in support of initiative objective.

-Collaborate with business sponsors and key stakeholders to define objectives, scope, and alignment and execution in support of strategic priority.

-Set expectations, drive and facilitate initiative meetings ensuring objectives are met and actions are clearly outlined.

-Identify barriers and obstacles and problem solve to overcome.

-Drive outcome based decisions that will allow initiatives to move faster to deliver company goals.

-Present to business management including Executive leadership for project updates, project cycle and expected results.

-Summarize analytical details in support of monitoring and improving KPIs.

-Be a thought leader and connect the dots within the team and cross-functional partners to promote forward thinking opportunities for change and relentless improvement.

-Determine actionable opportunities and assign ownership.

-Focus on value delivery and measurement outcomes as identified in Objectives and Goal Planning.

Guides development and delivery of Experience Initiatives strategy

  • Lead, plan, develop, and manage proposals, roadmaps, initiatives, process streams and communication plans in support of the strategic initiative objective.

-Ability to gather data from a variety of functional stakeholders, analyze data, and present a cohesive story to inform decision-making

-Elevates the teammate and athlete experience by driving strategy, innovation, execution, standardization of in-store environment growth initiatives to support adoption and scalability

-Develop, test and influence in-store experience strategies

-Customize and create efficient tools and outputs and deliverables to drive awareness, progress and success of initiative.

-Creatively solve problems with strategic thinking, detail orientation and objectivity to promote the best cross-functional outcome

-Analyze the performance of experiential store elements and identify opportunities to improve value to athletes and/or profitability

  • Evaluate the impact on athlete lifetime value from participating in events/experiences/services

  • Oversee the development of KPIs dashboard and support with ongoing codification of insights/recommendations based on results

-Ensure we have the right data tools/reporting in place, and advocate for changes where needed

  • Help to standardize practices that will make our reporting easier, and establish processes where it is lacking

  • Develop strategies to improve experience initiatives across existing and future stores

  • Proactively identify opportunities to translate House of Sport learnings into other non-House of Sport doors

  • Help drive the creation of onboarding guides for new stores (including best practices based on historical learnings)

  • Partner with teams to refine planning and execution process for events with national brand partners

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Organizational Effectiveness, Information Technology or related degree

7 - 10 years in Retail, Analytics

Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification a plus

Experience with Lean, Six Sigma Practices

Training in Organizational Change Management theories and practice preferred

Experience in Project Management

Excellent relationship building skills among a wide range of stakeholders

Ability to lead a cross functional team

Ability to confidently present to Executive Leadership

Experience with Microsoft Project & Microsoft Publisher
