Phlebotomist-Lab-Full-Time

Job Description:

  • The phlebotomist is responsible for specimen collections, accessioning, labeling and transport of specimens.
  • Must optimize patient safety with minimal medical/health care errors in any or all the sections of the Clinical Laboratory
  • All employees will continually monitor and adhere to safety responsibilities and initiatives.
  • Adheres to specific hospital policy and procedures.

Requirements:

  • High School Graduate or GED required.
  • Courses in biology, chemistry and computer preferred.
  • Certification in phlebotomy preferred but not required.
  • Certifications based on the unit worked:
  • Previous experience in a clinical laboratory is desirable.
  • BLS
