Fuel Test Technician B
JOB DIMENSIONS:
Job Summary:
Under general supervision, performs testing, setting and acceptance of commercial and government fueling valves; and perform related duties as assigned.
Reports to: Assembly Manager
Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs adjustment, setting and acceptance testing on hydraulic valves with hydraulic and electronic pilots in accordance with approved test procedures;
- Ensures product complies with mechanical, dimensional and operational specifications;
- Determines order of valve testing given shipping dates or service requests;
- Checks flow rates and pressure levels;
- Determines reason for test failures (defective controls fittings or main valves);
- Must be able to perform some final assembly job duties during the testing procedure;
- Completes valve test reports for certification purposes;
- Inquires with sales and engineering regarding special requirements and other needs;
- May be required to work in final assembly for training and on an as needed basis;
- Maintains testing equipment and clean work area;
- Regular punctuality, attendance, and absence reporting in conformance with company policies is essential to the successful performance of this position; and
- Fully comply with company rules, policies, procedures, and safety guidelines to ensure safe and effective operations.
QUALIFICATIONS GUIDELINES:

Experience/Training/Education:
Some experience working with commercial or military fuel systems is desirable.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Basic knowledge of testing procedures and techniques;
- Knowledge of basic math;
- Skilled in the operation of dial indicators and measuring equipment including calipers and micrometers;
- Skill in operation of fuel pumps, hoists and lifting equipment;
- Ability to compile and maintain accurate testing logs and records;
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, basic electrical schematics and wiring diagrams;
- Ability to perform minor and preventative maintenance on mechanical and rotating equipment associated with the test facility;
- Ability to maintain a clean work area;
- Knowledge of proper use of basic hand tools such as wrenches, adjustable wrenches, screw drivers and hammers;
- Knowledge of hydraulics; and
- Ability to read and interpret pressure gauge levels.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to move and control heavy objects with the use of a hoist or manlift;
Ability to reach, bend, stretch and stand for long periods of time;
