JOB TITLE: Utility Maintenance Field Technician
MUSTS: Must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver s license. Must
be able to read and interpret technical and operational documents,
manuals, blueprints, system maps, diagrams, construction specs &
standards. Must have basic math skills and a High school diploma or
equivalent. Must be willing to participate in on-call duty schedule rotation
and must also be able to pass a background check and drug testing. Must be
able to demonstrate critical thinking skills to make decisions in order to
sustain the operation, maintenance, and services of water and wastewater
treatment facilities.
SKILLS: Good communication skills required including demonstrated fluency
with reading, writing, and speaking the English language. General
knowledge of water and wastewater system maintenance and ability to inspect
equipment or monitor operating conditions, meters, and gauges to determine
load requirements and detect malfunctions. Ability to record operational
data, personnel attendance, or meter and gauge readings on specified forms
and utilizing required technical programs and equipment. General computer and
Microsoft word skills preferred.
Physical Requirements may include: Working in confined spaces; Working in
areas exposed to noise and chemicals; Working in extreme weather
conditions; Lift and carry loads up to 50lbs.; Climb inspection ladders
and perform work up to the limits of elevated water storage tanks;
Standing, sitting, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling,
reaching, handling, grasping, find dexterity, kneeling, stooping,
crouching, crawling, bending, twisting, climbing, balancing,
vision including color determination, hearing, foot & hand controls.
DUTIES: Performs activities related to water and wastewater system
maintenance, including water quality and water supply. Installs, repairs
and replaces water mains, water services, water meters, fire hydrants,
backflow devices, sewer lines, lateral cleanouts, manholes collection
lines and other related water and wastewater systems. Responds to Work Orders
related to line locations and marks water and wastewater facilities. Performs
customer support activity and interacts with the public in a professional
manner. Develops a working knowledge and understanding of safety practices
for all materials used in water and wastewater system operations including the
handling of liquid and gaseous chemicals. Notifies customers of scheduled and
emergency outages. Develops knowledge of system operations, control
settings, and plan/lift station operations. Responds quickly and
accurately to service requests. May operate heavy machinery including dump
truck, Vactor truck and backhoe as well as other related equipment in
performing skilled and semiskilled duties for water and system wastewater maint
WAGES: $17- $29 per hour, depending on experience and level of
operator license held. Employer is willing to train the right entry level
applicant. Paid Bi-weekly.

DURATION: This is a permanent full time 40 hours per week position.
SHIFT: Monday-Thursday 4PM-10PM or Tuesday-Friday 7AM-5:30PM. Overtime
may be required and rotating weekday after hours and weekend on-call is require
