Position Overview:

Our team is currently seeking a passionate School Social Worker who wants to make an impact at a community-based school in Crestwood, IL for the 2024-2025 school year. This School Social Worker will support PreK-3rd grade students and work alongside another School Social Worker and School Counselor in the building.

Job Responsibilities:  

  • Work full-time, Monday-Friday from 8:00 am-3:00 pm beginning on August 21st, 2024.

  • Provide social work services and support to PreK-3rd grade students.

  • There is a cross-categorical classroom in this building, so there is no intensive communication caseload or ED students.

  • SSW will provide General Education support to students with the other SSW and SC.

  • Additional caseload details and numbers are to follow.

  • Collaborate and work alongside another School Social Worker and School Counselor.

  • Work with parents and children in a confidential and caring manner and assist the family, school, and community in any way required to bridge gaps between family and schools.

  • Fulfill all the responsibilities of the IEP: timely and current progress monitoring, use of progress monitoring to guide instruction, etc.  

  • Complete casework assessments and services and communicate them to students and their families.

  • Assess, identify, and provide clinical interventions to students with emotional, social, attendance, and/or behavioral concerns within the general education population.

  • Complete classroom observations and functional behavior assessments on identified students.

  • Utilize student performance data as a guide for decision-making.

  • Participate in and contribute to a school culture that focuses on improved student learning.

  • Attend meetings and professional development activities as required.

  • Other duties as assigned.

    Job Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Social Work

  • Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)

  • Endorsement in Social Work

  • Experience supporting Elementary students is a plus, but not required.
