OVERVIEW
The Process Engineer will develop and assist in implementing new processes. The Process Engineer is also responsible for improving existing operations and manufacturing technologies. This position will support multiple capital projects and will examine project and design to include process design and equipment. The Process Engineer is also responsible for performing engineering analysis and studies. The Process Engineer regularly interacts with line operators on issues and may lead a task force or project requiring regular interaction with line employees. This is a hands-on engineering position that includes considerable time spent on the manufacturing floor.
DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for developing methods of improving the existing process through automation, process developments and new technologies.
Works with Control Engineers to optimize Process Controls to fine tune process control points to achieve efficiencies and improved quality.
Assist process superintendents and supervisors as needed to troubleshoot issues in the process.
Strives to constantly improve the energy efficiency of the process and the refinery.
Manages process projects and tasks as assigned by the process manager.
Works within all safety, environmental, food safety and food security procedures.
Able to perform lab testing to support improvements.
Ability to learn the process associated with processing sugar cane
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and SAP
Additional duties as assigned.
WORK EXPERIENCES
3 years of engineering experience in an industrial facility
Experience supervising employees or leading a project including employees in a unionized work environment
Experience supporting multiple capital projects
Experience developing and assisting in new processes/procedures
Ability to work some weekends is required.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
4 year degree in Engineering (preferably Chemical) from an accredited college/university
Pay Rate
$70,500-$117,500
The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s qualifications and prior experience.
