Amazon Senior Accountant, Intercompany Settlement in Culver City, California

Description

This position will be responsible for supporting the accounting function for intercompany settlement. Working with cross-department business leaders, tax, treasury, and local accounting teams to ensure a seamless process through proposal, approval and posting into the company’s financial statements. Candidates will work in a fast-paced environment, manage through ambiguity and complexity while supporting intercompany settlement activity impacting the global accounting organization. Previous experience with intercompany accounting is considered a plus. This role requires excellent communication and organization skills, including the ability to anticipate, identify and communicate risks cross-functional teams.

Key job responsibilities

  • Coordinate the settlement sign-off decisions with worldwide business owners and withholding tax team

  • Obtain the cross functional approvals from Tax, Accounting and Treasury as per internal policy. Conduct analytics as part of the approval review.

  • Manage the internally developed settlement platform as the superuser.

  • Manage the outreach to key business partners such as regional, subsidiary or global process accounting teams.

  • Create and maintain documentations for process integrity.

  • Liaise with program management and Fintech business partners to provide functional requirements as a subject matter expert.

About the team

The Intercompany Accounting team's mission is to account, reconcile and settle intercompany balances between its legal entities accurately and efficiently. Supporting global reporting and compliance needs while allowing for as real time settlement decisions to optimize cash and currency positioning across the structure.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of Fortune 500 operational accounting experience

  • CPA

  • Experience working with stakeholders

  • Experience participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results

  • Experience in tax, finance or a related analytical field

  • Experience in managing financials processes regionally or globally.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $56,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
