Description
The Corporate Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for fostering a culture of quality excellence. This role is focused on driving continuous improvement of product quality and processes. In addition, this individual will support the Quality Department and Corporate Food Safety & Quality Manager in other project activities as needed.
Responsibilities
Frequently reviews product quality data and trends to determine continuous improvement initiatives
Drives Supplier improvement in milk and cream quality, etc.
Supports plant problem solving efforts utilizing new and established corrective action processes
Conducts product complaint trend analysis to assist the manufacturing facilities
Develops and revises food safety/quality policies and procedures
Reviews and approves changes to product specifications and laboratory methods
Drives adherence to ingredient and packaging specifications by following SPC principles using the current tools for real-time data visualization
Coordinates sample collections from internal plants for product and packaging reviews
Provides technical support for resolution to issues relative to key process indicators in quality and/or food safety
Performs internal and external food safety, quality and regulatory audits
Leads change management for material lot qualification through label approval and other business processes
Participates in cross-functional teams to assist plants in effective implementation of food safety and quality initiatives and processes

Education and Training
Required
Bachelors degree in Food Science, Dairy Science, or related discipline
1-3 years of relevant industry experience
Data analysis and statistical process control experience
Experience with MS Office Suite, Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), statistical software (ex. JMP)
Preferred
Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) for Human Food
HACCP Trained
Knowledge of GFSI Benchmarked Schemes, such as SQF
Dairy manufacturing experience
Organizational RelationshipsThis position reports to the Corporate Food Safety & Quality Manager and works with others in the Quality Department to improve the business.Frequent onsite collaboration at internal manufacturing facilities is expected.
