Legal Assistant - Corporate

We are seeking aLegal Assistantfor the Corporate department in our Dallas office. As a key member of our team, you will assist in all aspects of the transactional practice including the preparation of various transactional documents, signature page packets, minute books and stock certificates. Strong legal/executive assistant and communication skills are essential. If you have a deep understanding of corporate transactional practice and, strong communication skills, we would appreciate hearing from you. This position will be on-site 5 days/week in our Dallas office.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide day-to-day legal and executive support for attorneys.

  • Create and revise client documents, spreadsheets, and forms from drafts and originals.

  • Assist with monthly closing preparations including editing, proofing and preparation of closing binders.

  • Perform calendar management.

  • Process time entry, open new matters, draft engagement letters, process reimbursement expenses, maintain calendars, review and prepare billing invoices, and other administrative duties.

  • Maintain client files; review and prepare billing invoices and other administrative duties.

  • Prepare and submit conflicts check forms, screening forms, and new matter request forms.

  • Exercise excellent judgment to determine priority level of work assigned daily; assure high priority items are completed in a timely matter.

  • Organize and coordinate meetings, conferences, and travel arrangements.

  • Assist other legal assistants with overflow and backup as needed.

  • May be requested to perform other duties not listed above.

What we’re looking for:

  • At least 6 years of Corporate Legal Assistant experience working in a large law firm or similar setting.

  • Experience with heavy editing, formatting and comparing lengthy legal documents. - Ability to initiate, draft, edit and finalize correspondence.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Excellent word processing and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work as a team member and communicate effectively with all levels of personnel.

  • Ability to multi-task and strong attention to detail in a highly demanding, deadline-driven environment.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat, including Excel spreadsheets and document handling.

  • Ability to work overtime as needed.

  • High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
