Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Payroll Specialist in the construction/contractor industry. This role is based in Dallas, Texas and will require the successful candidate to manage various payroll responsibilities in an onsite environment.
Responsibilities include:
• Full cycle payroll management, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions
• Ensuring compliance with current government regulations
• Establishing and implementing policies on matters such as payroll advancements to employees
• Preparing month-end close reports and assisting in the reconciliation of payroll-related GL accounts
• Engaging in payroll-related problem-solving and resolution activities
• Ensuring all payroll information and records are maintained in accordance with statutory requirements
• Processing, verifying, and procuring necessary documentation for the payment of employees
• Contributing to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed. Requirements • Demonstrable experience in Full Cycle Payroll
• Familiarity with Month End Close procedures
• Proven ability to Process Payroll in a timely and accurate manner
• Proficient in using payroll software
• Strong understanding of federal and state regulations relating to salaries, wages, taxes, benefits, and other payroll related matters
• Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
• Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel
• High level of integrity and dependability
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Knowledge of construction/contractor industry is a plus
• Relevant certification or qualification in payroll is desirable.
