The Payroll Supervisor is tasked with ensuring timely and accurate compensation for all employees, while staying up-to-date on relevant policies and procedures that impact payroll processing. This position requires close coordination with departments such as Accounting, Human Resources, and Field Administration to ensure accurate payroll records.

This role is Hybrid - Work from home 2 days, Mondays and Fridays

responsibilities:

  • Manage full-cycle payroll processing, ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations for both salaried and hourly staff.

  • Verify and audit all payroll-related data entries, such as new hires, terminations, salary adjustments, direct deposits, and tax withholding selections.

  • Review, process, and reconcile payroll batches, including timekeeping entries, bonuses, and other forms of compensation.

  • Calculate and administer payments for employees on leave, such as short-term disability benefits.

  • Handle wage garnishments, child support payments, and tax levies accurately, adhering to state-specific guidelines.

  • Conduct payroll audits to maintain accuracy and compliance.

  • Post payroll data to accounting systems for each payroll cycle.

  • Ensure accurate submission of electronic payments for child support after auditing.

  • Generate and distribute payroll-related reports as requested.

  • Address and resolve payroll-related queries and issues.

  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to foster effective communication.

  • Manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines by effectively prioritizing work assignments.

  • Act as backup for other payroll team members when necessary.

  • Take on additional payroll-related tasks as required.

qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • At least 3 years of experience managing payroll in a multi-state environment.

  • Strong understanding of payroll regulations, practices, and compliance requirements.

  • Proficiency in MS Office and relevant payroll software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Payroll certification (FPC or CPP) or actively working towards certification.

  • 2+ years of experience with UKG software, including transaction management, payroll processing, report generation, and wage type administration.
