  • Responsible for providing technical direction and leadership in regard to the design, development, and deployment of solutions within our customer base that improve the resiliency of our systems. The technical lead comes up with innovative solutions for business and technical problems, anticipates and acts upon issues that arise, providing alternate approaches and solutions, communicates decisions clearly, and sets the standard for highest quality of work.

What you'll do

  • Partner to define SRE technical roadmap, provide design and technical governance, and dictate technical standards (to include software coding standards, tools, and platforms). Drive utilization of the most effective tools to support the goals of SRE.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders such as product and platform owners, to define service level objectives (SLOs), and service-level indicators (SLIs) for system operations focused on the critical features of the customers’ journey and experience.

  • Leverage AI capabilities to proactively catch the problems and implement self-healing mechanisms

  • Lead and design the Chaos testing for on-prem and cloud systems

  • Use configuration management tools like Terraform to automate monitoring alerting as code

  • Evaluates product requirements and proposes solutions considering the product's vision and the technology roadmap

  • Identifies and drives utilization of new tools and reports to accelerate monitoring, alerting and automation (where needed) within the product families we support.

  • Research and implement new technologies and solutions to enhance current processes, security, and performance

  • Acts as the technical subject matter expert (SME) on the product

  • Mentors and coaches team members related to architecture, design, development, build deployment, and maintenance of systems

  • Define strategy and drive to completion end-to-end monitoring infrastructure (Logging, Metrics, Tracing) and work closely with other Product Teams to provide the right tooling to measure the reliability of our systems

  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure availability and reliability of applications, hardware and infrastructure

  • Efficiently handle live production incidents, debug/troubleshoot application, hardware and infrastructure related issues and implement SRE best practices

  • Implement and improve on continuous integration / continuous deployment automation using DevOps tools

  • Facilitate incident management, post-incident reviews, and remediation tasks to reduce the frequency and severity of incidents

  • Works extended hours, including nights and weekends, as needed in order to support the operation

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems, Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training

  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering, SRE or performance engineering role

  • 2 years of experience in Azure cloud architecture, networking, security, and administration

  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases

  • Hands-on expertise with monitoring and logging tools such as Dynatrace, AIOPS/BigPanda, ThousandEyes etc.

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Airline Industry experience

  • Expertise in Terraform and CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions

  • Knowledge of Kubernetes and Kafka is a plus

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills

  • Knowledge and experience with the following:

  • Java SE, Java EE, or Spring

  • Object Oriented design principles

  • Java/Java EE design patterns, SOA principles and patterns, EAI patterns, and UML

  • Relational databases and Microservices architecture.

  • Microservices architecture and JavaScript MVC frameworks

  • Diagnostics/Testing Tools, such as Splunk, Dynatrace, LISA, and SOAP UI

  • Well versed in application design, development, automated testing and delivery in an agile environment

  • Strong understanding of PCI, SOX, PII, and security processes and standards

  • Familiarity with software configuration management/build processes

  • Experience working with Agile, DevOps, including TDD (test driven development), Continuous Integration, and Continuous Deployment
