Registered Nurse (RN) Medical Surgical Hematology/Oncology

Fast-paced department is looking for top-skilled nurses.

Work location: Texas Health Dallas, 8200 Walnut Hill Ln, Dallas, TX 75231

Work hours: Full Time | 36/hour Week | Day shift | 7a-7p

Medical Surgical Hematology/Oncology highlights:

  • 30 Bed inpatient Hematology/ Oncology Medical Surgical Department

  • THD pays for Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certification

  • Working with a Multi-Disciplinary Team

  • Work with Oncology patients and provide life-saving care

Here’s What You Need

  • Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program Or Diploma Nurse Program Completion

  • BSN preferred

  • One-year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.

  • One year of Emergency experience strongly preferred

  • RN must practice within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act, serve as a role model, intra/interdisciplinary collaborator and coordinator for quality patient care

  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Req And

  • CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Req And

  • CRRN - Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse Upon Hire Pref Or

  • CNRN - Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurse Upon Hire Pref Or

  • ONC - Orthopedic Nurse Certified Upon Hire Pref Or

  • Other Certification in area of specialty Upon Hire Pref

What You Will Do

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process

  • Assesses the patient

  • Plans the care of the patient

  • Intervenes as appropriate

  • Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions

  • Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.

  • Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information

  • Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
