Primary Purpose

The Special Events Project Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating activities of designated projects to ensure that goals or objectives are accomplished within a prescribed time frame, pricing, and execution parameters.

Essential Functions

  • Visit each branch at least twice a year to review upcoming projects, equipment requirements, applicable project summaries, and employee performance

  • Review project proposal, plan or site visit to determine time frame, and execution limitations, procedures for accomplishing the project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of the project

  • Establish work plan and staffing for each phase of the project, and arrange for recruitment or assignment of project personnel

  • Review and update account information in Tower for jobs that are being supervised or worked on to ensure accuracy and completeness. Review workflow codes, safety issues, disposal facilities, data files, and work order notes

  • Confer with project staff to establish the scope of authority, outline the work plan, and assign duties and responsibilities

  • Provide written feedback from the field on employee performance, equipment functionality, and safety concerns on an ongoing basis

  • Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure the project progress is on schedule, within prescribed pricing guidelines safely, and according to company standards and procedures

  • Prepare project reports for management and clients

  • Confer with project personnel to provide technical advice and resolve problems

  • Perform site visits for scheduled services to ensure profitable execution of the work. Identify ways to reduce costs and increase productivity. Set estimated start and stop times in Tower for recurring services to maximize productivity

  • Attend Project Managers' Meetings

  • Assist in investigations of accidents and injuries to determine the root cause

  • Ensure and enforce safe work practices are followed

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Ability to read, understand, and adhere to the rules and regulations of the Federal Transit Administration and U.S. Department of Transportation

• Analytical skills, with the ability to problem solve effectively

• Excellent customer service skills and professionalism

• Ability to recognize vehicle maintenance needs

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Time management and organizational skills

• Strong leadership and mentorship qualities

• CDL A/B a plus

• Computer literate - able to work on MS Office suite

• Ability to travel for extended periods of time away from home

Physical Requirements

  • Sit while driving and stand while servicing products

  • Use hands and fingers to handle, control or feel objects tools or controls

  • Repeat the same movements

  • See details of objects that are less than a few feet away and also at greater distance

  • Speak clearly so customers can understand

  • Understand the speech of another person

  • Hear sounds and recognize the difference between them

  • Walk up to 30 minutes at a time without exertion

  • Enter and exit equipment by stepping and kneeling

  • Lift up to 40lbs from your waits to your shoulders

  • Lift 30lbs from the floor to your head

  • Crouch and squat

  • Push 100lbs and pull 100lbs horizontally

Salary Range

$80,000.00/Hr. – $160,000.00/Hr. / year

At United Site Services, our salary ranges reflect the minimum and maximum base pay for the posted position applicable to all locations across the US. Within the posted salary range, individual pay is determined by the geographic location, job related skills, experience, education, and certifications. Our total compensation package includes base pay plus a comprehensive benefits program.
