Because of our growth, we are seeking an experienced Cloud Geographer. The Technical Consultant Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Cloud Geography is responsible for providing technical subject matter expertise to internal and external stakeholders. This position is client facing and leads opportunity pursuits and assists in knowledge transfer to staff. The Technical Consultant SME will assist in managing client expectations, leading technical implementations, and providing high level technical resolution. Responsibilities Provide technical expertise to clients and internal employees. Help position the firm as a leader in new and/or emerging related area of expertise. This includes being an Industry leader in the area of expertise, presenting at conferences, producing articles/blogs/white papers and helping clients and internal stakeholders understand the area of expertise. Research, communicate, and implement best practices firm-wide related to area of expertise. Translate subject matter terminology into business terms and recommend solutions to leadership and clients. Assist in leading projects and program implementations. As requested, act as project team leader by coordinating work efforts and training project staff. Review technical guides and documents prior to distribution to the firm and/or clients to ensure subject area is accurately represented. Provide technical resolution to internal/external stakeholders related to complex and critical issues. Apply leading-edge principles and concepts to job assignments while contributing to the advancement of company knowledge. Acts as technical expert and representative of the firm at various business development functions, as needed. Client Development Assist in the management of scope, budget, resources, and quality on niche projects. Lends technical expertise to contract negotiation and bid creation. Assist in securing profitable new and/or emerging business opportunities related to area of expertise. Qualifications Must have a BA/BS and eight (8) years related experience. Must have industry specific certification and/or registration. Must have deep theoretical and applied knowledge of remote sensing science, including one or more of the following: Multispectral Optical Remote Sensing Thermal Remote Sensing Synthetic Aperture Radar Remote Sensing. LIDAR Remote Sensing. Must have experience working on applications in one or more of the following domains: Agricultural Monitoring. Land Use and Change Detection. Biodiversity Monitoring. Hydrological Monitoring. Coastal Monitoring. Climatological Monitoring. Must be able to develop computer applications or other analysis techniques appropriate to discipline. In particular: Must have 8 years experience with python coding and excellent knowledge of typical data science libraries. Must have 5 years experience developing applications with Google Earth Engine. Must have 3 years experience with the GCP environment and know foundational concepts of cloud computing and architecture.
