[The CNC Machinist (Level II) specializes in setting up and operating CNC Machines and machining centers. The CNC Machinist applies intermediate knowledge of machine shop theory and procedures, shop mathematics, maintainability of materials, and layout techniques.]{times="" new="" roman",="" serif"=""}

[Essential Job Functions]{times="" new="" roman",="" serif"=""}

• [Studies basic blueprints, sketches, drawings, or sample parts to determine the dimensions and tolerances of the finished work pieces.]{times="" new="" roman",="" serif"=""}
• [Follows the sequence of operations on the router.]{times="" new="" roman",="" serif"=""}
• [Follows set-up requirements on set-up sheets with minimal support.]{times="" new="" roman",="" serif"=""}
• [Ability to conduct basic quality control checks and full functional deburring.]{times="" new="" roman",="" serif"=""}
• [Perform tool changes when needed.]{times="" new="" roman",="" serif"=""}
• [Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, and saws.]{times="" new="" roman",="" serif"=""}
• [Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors, such as feeds and speeds, coolant flow, and depth of cut, or enters commands to retrieve input or edit programs.]{times="" new="" roman",="" serif"=""}
• [Starts and observes machine operations to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or programs as required.]{times="" new="" roman",="" serif"=""}
• [Verifies dimensions and alignment using measuring instruments, such as micrometers, height gauges, gauge blocks, and other inspection equipment.]{times="" new="" roman",="" serif"=""}

• [Communicates with co-workers and team leader to receive instructions and coordinate activities.]{times="" new="" roman",="" serif"=""}

   

[Requirements]{times="" new="" roman",="" serif"=""}

• Minimum 2 years of trade school, vocational education and/or work experience.
• Must have basic knowledge of GD&T and G&M codes.
• Must know how to use and read measuring and inspection equipment.
• Must know how to read a blueprint.
• Must have own tools.
