In this position...
Looking for dynamic supply chain professional to join our Interior Department as a Commodity Integration buyer for Instrument Panels / Cockpit Assemblies. This is a fast paced, high visibility commodity.
What you'll do...
Supply chain lead for NA Instrument Panels, working with global supply chain counterparts to deliver overall strategy
Manage cost, quality, and delivery of Instrument Panels over program lifetime
Understand and set cost savings goals annually to identify pure commercial leverage versus design efficiencies and end-to-end supply chain improvements
Work with Product Development to understand latest supply base footprint, financial health ratings, technologies, and trends
Analyze market supply/demand balances and deficit risks
Align on sourcing to component and part requirements
Work with cost estimating to understand cost drivers and gap analysis
Conduct regular design reviews with engineering
Sourcing execution lead (RFP events, tactical sourcing, spot buy, contract admin, etc.)
POV owner of program-specific sourcing decisions
Implement sourcing strategy for category, delivering a balanced portfolio of material that meets Ford’s capacity, cost, timing, and ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) needs
Manage relationships with existing and future suppliers
Understand industry and asset specific costs
Work with suppliers to define integration opportunities within the supply chain
Look at all existing processes and challenge if improvements could be made, regardless of scale
Develop material cost roadmaps that deliver corporate objectives and ensure long-term viability
Lead, and bring to closure, all supplier claim activity
Support SCBS operational buyers on all resourcing, banking, and operations activities
Understand and manage forecasted risks and opportunities for your buy
Formulate and update commodity strategy with MP alignment
Understand all supplier turnover both tier I and directed tier II
You'll have...
Bachelor's degree in related field of study
Minimum of 3 years strategic buying experience
Proficiency in Purchasing systems and procedures
Clear understanding of the purchasing program life cycle
Strong analytical skills (Must be data driven and able to analyze multiple potential scenarios / business plans)

Ability to influence senior executives to drive decision-making
Ability to develop and successfully execute negotiations strategy
Familiarity with manufacturing processes a plus

Self-starter/ motivated and be able to work both independently as well as in a team setting.
Strong negotiation skills (creating leverage in both offensive and defensive situations)
Persuasive and convincing communication skills (e.g., proposals, reports, plans) to secure commitment from business leaders
Ability to interpret organization needs and commercial strategies as input into global Category Strategies
