Corewell Health Speech Pathologist PRN in Dearborn, Michigan

Job Summary

The speech pathologist provides evaluation and treatment for patients referred to the Speech and Language Pathology Department and takes part in Continuing Education and fund-raising activities as assigned.

Essential Functions

valuate communicative dysfunction, give recommendations and provide patient treatment.

Documentation of patient evaluation/treatment in Epic system and outcome input in Noms.

  • Develop plan of treatment for individual/group, computer therapy for patient.

  • Communicate with families or significant others, physicians and other interdisciplinary team members relating to patient.

  • Assist in Supervision of interns from graduate programs of various universities.

  • Related department projects as directed.

    A. Education / Training:

    · Master’s Degree, Certificate of Clinical Competence (ASHA) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), ASHA.

    B. Work Experience:

    · Experience in adult/children neurological speech and language disorders, evaluation and treatment, including aphasia, apraxia, dysarthria, dysphagia, laryngectomy, stuttering, and voice disorders.

    · Experience with head and neck cancer, tracheostomies, cognition, TBI, dementia, and modified barium swallow studies.

    C. Certification, Licensure, Registration:

    · Certificate of Clinical Competence, America Speech-Language-Hearing Association, (required) or

    · Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), American Speech-Language-Hearing Association

    · Licensure in Speech Pathology-Michigan (required) or temporary license during the CFY (required)
