Job Title: Material Handler
Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Material Handler to join our aerospace machine shop team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the flow of materials, parts, and products throughout the shop, ensuring materials are delivered to the correct workstations, and that inventory levels are maintained efficiently. The ideal candidate will have experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or aerospace environment, and a strong understanding of material handling, inventory control, and safety procedures.
Responsibilities
Receive, store, and organize raw materials, parts, and components required for machining and assembly processes.
Track material usage, monitor stock levels, and reorder supplies as needed.
Assist in conducting regular cycle counts and inventory audits to ensure accuracy.
Ensure materials and tools are delivered to the appropriate workstations or departments in a timely manner to support production schedules.
Verify and inspect incoming shipments for damage, correctness, and compliance with specifications.
Prepare and ship outgoing materials or parts to customers or suppliers as needed.
Ensure materials meet specified requirements and standards before they are distributed for use.
Report any discrepancies or quality issues to the relevant supervisor or team.
Adhere to all safety protocols and workplace regulations, ensuring the safe handling, storage, and transportation of materials.
Work closely with machinists, engineers, and other team members to ensure efficient material flow and production schedules are maintained.
Maintain accurate documentation of material usage, inventory levels, and other necessary paperwork in line with company policies and aerospace industry standards.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring that materials are stored properly and work areas are safe.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Decatur, Alabama.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
