This is a full time, exempt position.

Position Summary

As a Key Account Manager, you will help ADM grain origination develop long-term producer relationships to secure supply chains critical to sustainably feed the worlds growing population. In addition, you will be responsible for farm direct grain origination to ADM assets, strategy, and growth of your territory. The Key Account Manager will have account ownership for target customers and prospects with emphasis on outside of the office sales and origination efforts for their territory.

What You’ll Do:

  • Responsible for growing and maintaining relationships with 30-100 key producer accounts

  • Develop an in-depth working knowledge of the customer’s operation as it relates to grain marketing and logistics. This may include how local markets might provide selling opportunities, and how tailored risk management solutions might meet specific marketing goals for the producer

  • Identify cross-selling opportunities within ADM’s portfolio to benefit the producer

  • Total origination responsibilities for at least 10m bushels in the region highly focused on ADM asset origination. 

  • Risk management focused for both producer and ADM, as it pertains to origination

  • Direct ship business into non ADM assets as appropriate to create year round relevancy with the producer.

  • Execute and support regional Regen Ag programs which may include data management and technology adoption

  • Network to attain positive, collaborative relationships with internal colleagues across divisions 

  • Help develop origination employees, including sales skills, application of risk management products and crop insurance, and account management

  • Engage with accounting and administrative staff to ensure timely and accurate accounting and contract management

  • Effectively communicate competitive advantages and vulnerabilities to further regional development and success of ADM to key internal stakeholders

  • Work closely with Account Specialist to maintain positive account relationships

  • Support and develop local and regional business objectives

Who We’re Looking For:

  • 7+ years’ experience

  • Ability to evaluate and manage risk with key accounts

  • Understand how to lead and conduct professional sales/origination calls with customers and prospects

  • Collaborate with local colleagues to provide insight and support strategic goals

  • Commitment to territory planning and efficient execution
