ALUMINUM PRODUCTION WELDER
Under direction of management, the Production Welder is part of a team that manufactures custom docks, ramps and other fabricated parts. This full-time position works in a fast-paced production environment using technical drawings, various specs and verbal instructions. Welder is responsible for all finishing and inspection of their own work to meet operations deadlines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
These duties are those typically performed in this position. Employee may not perform all the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties
Weld and assemble aluminum, steel and stainless-steel parts to company standards using a variety of tools and methods
Responsible for performing finishing sanding, scraping, BBs and other clean-up duties
Become proficient in the use of the equipment required by the job function
Ensure accuracy and timeliness within established safety guidelines. May be required to explore methods of improving efficiency, speed and quality of work being done
Maintain a record of all work completed to help support other department functions
Follow company policies and procedures
Work within and promote corporate vision, mission, and values of the organization
Performs other duties as assigned
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND EDUCATION
The following generally describes the knowledge and ability required to enter the job and/or learned within a short period of time to successfully perform the assigned duties
High School Diploma or equivalent
1+ years MIG and TIG welding experience
Welding certification highly preferred but must be able to obtain certification within 90 days
Operate precision measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers and tape measures
Ability to perform basic math (add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers in addition to understanding fractions and decimals)
Become proficient in the use of the equipment required by the job function
Ability to lift and move up to 75 pounds and perform frequent postural changes such as sitting, reaching, walking, stooping and lifting.
Ability to read and understand both written and verbal instructions
Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision
Knowledge of safety precautions related to occupational hazards, procedures and practices of the trade
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Must be able to meet all safety requirements for applicable safety policies
