Description of Job
This position is an Accountant for the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA.) This
position exists to monitor and report expenses and revenues, and to reconcile
the expenditures and the revenues to the spending plan amounts, and ensure we
spend all amounts appropriately on allowable expenses from the spending plan.
The ARPA accountant will ensure the State of Colorado complies with all
Federal and State regulations. This position monitors the enhanced Medicaid
ARPA funding. Since the enhanced Medicaid funding and ARPA are closely tied
together, and the ARPA enhanced spending is connected and intertwined together
with the CMS 64 report, this position must understand the reporting for
Medicaid and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) 64 reporting
and how the , and how ARPA is included in the report as an additional 10% of
the overall spending for specific lines only. This position will be
responsible for reporting the additional funding received through the Medicaid
CMS 64 report to management, the Office of the State Controller (OSC) and the
Governor's office at least quarterly and on demand as needed. The ARPA
Accountant will also manage the spending plan associated with the ARPA
requirements to ensure all funding is spent on the approved spending and we
spend the correct amount according to the spending plan. The ARPA Accountant
will work closely with budget to ensure the spending is handled according to
the rules and regulations, and ensure the expenditures receive the correct
reimbursement percentage, and all funds.
Experience Only
Eight (8) years of professional accounting experience
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in accounting, AND four years
of professional accounting experience.
