Planate Management Group LLC Construction Manager (Palo, Alto) in Denver, Colorado

Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida USA with a technical support center in South East Asia and East Africa, that provides program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world.

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Construction Manager to oversee and manage construction projects in Palo Alto, with a focus on healthcare facility design and other commercial, institutional, and light industrial buildings. The Construction Manager will be responsible for the full project lifecycle, from planning and design through construction and completion, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, codes, and standards.

This is a 12-month contract position, with the possibility of extension based on project requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage construction projects, including ground-up construction, tenant improvements, and infrastructure upgrades for commercial and healthcare facilities.

  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other professionals to develop project designs, specifications, and estimates.

  • Ensure compliance with local and federal regulations, including The Joint Commission (TJC), OSHA, and National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) standards.

  • Review and approve engineering plans, drawings, and calculations for submission to public authorities.

  • Develop and monitor project schedules and budgets, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.

  • Conduct inspections to ensure that construction materials, workmanship, and systems meet specified standards.

  • Assess and resolve construction issues and conflicts, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.

  • Maintain project documentation, prepare reports, and communicate project progress to stakeholders.

  • Perform quality control reviews and ensure construction meets the established standards.

    General Requirements:

  • Minimum of 8 years of specialized experience in construction management, particularly in healthcare, commercial, or institutional buildings.

  • Professional registration as a Licensed Engineer or Architect is required.

  • In-depth knowledge of construction materials, methods, and processes, particularly related to healthcare facility design.

  • Proficient in the use of computer software to create drawings or virtual models of design elements.

  • Strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards, including healthcare regulations and safety standards .

  • Excellent communication skills , both oral and written, with experience in preparing reports and briefing management.

  • Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously, manage conflicts, and solve complex problems.

  • Knowledge of safety practices , including OSHA requirements , and familiarity with modern construction products and techniques .

  • Experience with healthcare facility design , including knowledge of The Joint Commission (TJC) standards.

  • Experience in construction management for projects valued at $10 million or more.

    Work Location:

  • This position is based in Palo Alto, CA, with on-site responsibilities at various construction sites. The role may require occasional travel to project locations within the region.
