Laradon Employment Coordinator for Adults with Disabilities in Denver, Colorado

Position: Employment Coordinator

Location: Laradon fosters a collaborative, team environment; working on-site in Denver, CO

Schedule: A flexible work schedule and ability to work extended shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Based on a 40 hour work week.

Starting Salary Range: * $21.00/hr.

The stated starting salary pay range for this position is meant to reflect a range of where a typical entry level candidate would start and is not meant to be all inclusive. Additional education and experience may result in a starting pay outside of the stated range.

We are seeking an Employment Coordinator to support the Employment Services team. Reporting to the Manager of Adult Employment Services, this role will support Laradon’s mission by  p roviding supported employment services for a caseload of individuals that may include work related assessments, job development, job seeking skills training,  job placement, travel training, job coaching, job retention, and/or other vocationally related services needed per individual. 

No day is ever alike but you can generally look forward to the following responsibilities:

  • Works with, establishes, and maintains a network of contacts and resources for potential jobs and of allied agencies such as Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR).

  • Performs job duties and responsibilities within agency and regulatory guidelines.

  • Maintains and submits required documentation and employment data to Assistant Director of Employment Services or program management as needed or requested.

  • Collaborates with program management to complete referral and intake process with referred individuals and assists with making enrollment recommendations.

  • Assesses participant vocational support needs.

  • Communicates and obtains necessary authorizations from funding sources prior to start of service.

  • Prepares vocational reports and plans according to needs and requirements of funding agencies. 

  • Collaborates and communicates effectively with Assistant Director of Employment Services, program management, other Employment Coordinators, Laradon team members, Employers, as well as other entities to benefit the supported individual as needed or required.

  • Provides support to participants consistent with the funding authorizations and to the individual’s service or work plan.

  • Completes and/or obtains all required paperwork needed for participant records according to Laradon policies and procedures, including information needed for billing, support plans, consent information, etc.

  • Plans and manages effective scheduling to cover all caseload authorized/billable units and services.

  • Maintains and tracks utilization of assigned participants and requests changes when needed.

  • Provides crisis intervention including coordinating and communicating with others and working on behalf of the individual to complete required documentation.

  • Provides support to employers as well as participants when marketing and performing Laradon’s employment services.

  • Maintains reliable personal vehicle or transportation to accomplish in-person, face to face, weekly, or as needed, individual employment site visit requirements.

  • Maintains effective written and oral communication with Laradon personnel and external entities.

  • As Laradon is a small employer and employees work in a collaborative, team environment, employee must be physically present in the office to perform his/her job functions; except as approved at company’s discretion on a limited basis.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • BA in Human Services, related field, or three years’ experience working with the intellectual and/or developmentally disabled population.

  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills.

  • Physical requirements include the ability to exert up to 25 pounds of force; physical condition to enable walking, standing, driving, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling; stamina to be on feet and active for full workdays; ability to speak or exchange information in an audible manner.

  • Valid Colorado driver's license, reliable transportation, clean/clear motor vehicle record, and at least 21 years of age.

  • Valid auto insurance to cover passengers required.
