We are seeking a full-time, Environmental Scientist / Engineer for our
Denver, CO operations.
The selected candidate will provide support on a variety of environmental
projects, including emergency response with travel and on-call support. You
will join a growing and energetic team supporting environmental projects in
the Rocky Mountain region of the U.S.
Support field work for Federal and Private clients and provide technical
support to a long-term U.S. Environmental Protection Agency contract in the
areas of site investigation, Brownfields redevelopment, removal
assessment, data management, and emergency response. Work includes a broad
range of site types from abandoned properties to mine sites, to
industrial/commercial facilities, to spills - with work locations across
Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming.
Provide technical support in the areas of emergency response, removal
assessment, and removal action. This position may also lend itself into
project management. Members of the emergency response team are responsible for
maintaining on-call readiness to handle emergency responses and provide
remedial and restoration guidance/solutions to clients. Members of the team
are also responsible for the planning and oversight of operations and site
health and safety.
Work will include multi-media sampling, field audits and inspections,
organizing and reviewing data, preparing reports, file reviews,
collection of air monitoring data, training and exercise support,
contractor oversight, and related services. Responsibilities may also
include training presentations, preparation of statement of qualifications
and proposals, and other consulting activities. Work for other government
and private sector clients in these areas is also possible.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have 1-5 years' experience in environmental
consulting, HazMat response, or related field is preferred. You will have
/ be:
United States citizenship is required.
Strong emergency response and remediation management skills and the ability to
respond quickly within a mandatory response time may be required.
Knowledge of federal and state regulations preferred.
Experience with remedial design, feasibility studies, hazardous waste,
site investigations, site remediation, field sampling, air quality,
ecological restoration, water resources desirable.
Previous experience working on EPA projects a plus.
Expertise in training curriculum development and implementation is desired.
Hydraulic and hydrologic modeling, GIS data analysis and geostatistics,
coding (VBA, Python, etc.), and data management skills a plus.
Highly motivated, customer focused, and work well in a team environment.
Ability to manage a heavy workload.
Excellent communication, client interaction, and organizational skills is
required.
Proficiency with MS Office applications is required.

Degree / Certifications
B.S. in environmental science or related degree required.
40-hour OSHA, ICS or related training, or demonstrated first responder
(environmental emergency response) experience preferred.
Asbestos or lead based paint certification preferred.
Work Environment

maintaining a valid driver's license and good driving record is required.
Lifting heavy field sampling and other equipment up to 35 pounds is required.
Meet physical demands of hazardous waste site work.
Travel is required and varies based on project requirements; may include
weekend travel and work.
Able to work outdoors, in all weather conditions, both hot and cold.
Be on-call as needed.
The Salary Range for this position is $55,000 - $64,000 depending on
education, experience, skills, and location.
