Your opportunity

  • Manage oversight of the various external service providers to ensure completeness, accuracy and timeliness of all product tax work

  • Perform technical tax analysis in the area of financial products, including financial derivatives such as futures, options and swaps

  • Perform technical tax analysis in the highly specialized areas of regulated investment companies (Subchapter M) and investment partnerships

  • Manage the tax requirements in foreign markets in which our funds invest and oversee tax documentation requirements for registration, foreign tax relief at source, foreign tax reclaims and ECJ reclaims

  • Manage the tax provision process, ASC 740 documentation and financial statement tax disclosures

  • Evaluate and support new investment products through researching proposed investments, product structures and operational requirements

  • Manage the calculation of fund distributions in accordance with the excise tax requirements

  • Research security attributes and data though resources such as Bloomberg, CCH and service provider reporting systems

  • Support the information reporting process, including domestic, FATCA and common reporting standards

  • Assist with domestic and foreign compliance and foreign country investor tax reporting

  • Carry out other duties as assigned

    Must have skills

  • BA/BS in Accounting or related field

  • 6 years or more of experience in tax

  • Strong tax technical, analytical and problem solving skills

  • Strong computer skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and insure timely completion of projects

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to frame tax issues in easily understood terms by a diverse audience

  • Ability to work directly with internal and external professionals from a broad range of backgrounds and levels of responsibility

    Nice to have skills

  • Masters in Tax or CPA license preferred

  • Fund accounting/fund administration knowledge a plus

    Compensation information

    The base salary range for this position is $130,000 - $145,000. This range is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different. This position will be posted until May 6, 2024.

    Annual Bonus Opportunity: Position is eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus award from the profit pool. The profit pool is funded based on Company profits. Individual bonuses are determined based on Company, department, team and individual performance.
